Comenius projects are dedicated to promoting and stimulating educational projects among European countries, which should be related to a main theme with common interest to all countries. Its main purpose is to support a better quality of education and formation of the people involved, creating an area for cooperation between students from different countries.

From September 2001 to June 2004 students and teachers from five countries mentioned above plan to work together using water as the central thee. Specifically, each partner school with  work on an aquatic eco-system of their region. Each school aspires to do the same or similar activities during an equal period of time in order to obtain coherence of information from everyone. All this work will be based on cooperation between the different schools which will permit each participant to exchange experience and explore other aspects of the other countries, schools and people. By doing this, the students will enrich their knowledge of the similarities and differences of several European countries; they will learn to work as a team and will be able to use technology of information and communication.

Throughout the TAPAS project the five partner schools plan to create a web page, publish three newspaper, create brochures and pamphlets about the aquatic eco-systems, do artistic work and exhibit it, create a final CD and DVD with all works and results, take part in international web-meetings (chat), have exchange programs between each other and collect water samples for analysis, among other activities. In June 2004 there will be a final meeting where students and teachers from the five schools will join together and share the work done during the project.
