Italian Day

Italian-Spanish Day in Radnóti Grammar School (spring 2003)

In our school 14-18 year-old students usually organize programmes for the youngsters a few times in a year.

This year the first programme was an Italian-Spanish Day, where the children could play a lot of games. The games were connected with the Italian or the Spanish culture in one form.

They could thread necklace from pasta, coil up spaghetti, build tower from cream slice, take a large pizza out of puzzle, paint the colours of the countries’ flags onto the childrens faces. There were poker, questions in connection with the cultures in a quiz, theatre, where the they could try themselves out in situation games and sometimes they made very good mini-performances.

In the meantime there was sounding the hot, latin music, thereupon we danced once or twice.

We tried to make the afternoon colourful. Time passed quickly.

People, who were there enjoyed themselves, including the organizers, and maybe we could arouse the children’s intrest about the new and strange cultures.
